Dude. this is actually part of the manga. It explains about how Urahara and his helper were banished. and why the vaizards hate shinigami and it tells their story too...this is to prepare for the upcoming story as like the manga.
LMAO that was friggin funny! Ahh quit being so uptight. Anime series do this sort of thing all the time. it's their way of preparing more storyline and giving backstory at the same time. That way when something out of the ordinay pops up or gets done your not sitting there with the WTF look on your face. Besides if you don't like it, don't watch it anymore because it isn't gonna quit. I'm sure it has enough of a following to keep it going.
